Another Mission complete: Standing With Refugees in Jordan
EP has returned from another mission in Jordan, where our team provided critical care to refugee populations across the greater Amman area. Jordan hosts one of the highest per-capita refugee populations in the world, with more than 3.4 million displaced people arriving from Palestine, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Sudan, Somalia, and beyond. Many families arrived to our clinics with UNHCR paperwork in hand, a symbol of both their displacement and their resilience.
Over the course of a week, our team cared for 1,101 patients, most of them children. On days three and four alone, they pushed their limits to see 405 patients in just 48 hours. Behind these numbers are individual stories of suffering eased, dignity restored, and hope rekindled.
Globally, over 120 million people are now displaced, double the number just a decade ago. Jordan, a nation of 11 million, carries a disproportionate share of this burden. The health needs are daunting, but our commitment remains clear: to stand alongside communities too often overlooked and to bring medicine beyond borders.
