ep mission transparency and accountability

At EP, we believe that trust is built through openness. Transparency is central to our work; not only in how we serve patients and communities, but in how we manage resources and steward the support entrusted to us. All of our financial information is publicly available, including our IRS Form 990 filings, which can be accessed here as well as on Guidestar, where EP has achieved Platinum Transparency with Candid for the second year in a row. Below you’ll find our financial reports, policies, and standards that guide how we operate.

How We Break Down Funds

With our strategy, every dollar is stretched to its fullest potential. We remain a volunteer-driven organization, and from 2021 to 2025, 100% of our U.S. team members have served without pay. This means funds go directly toward patient care, community health, and building capacity where it matters most. Our only paid staff are local team members in the communities we serve in LMICs, ensuring that resources also strengthen local economies.

Through strategic partnerships and innovative use of emergency medicine tools, we provide an exponential return on donor investment. In some missions, every $1 donated can translate into as much as $103 worth of health services delivered.

How donor funds are typically allocated:

  • Direct Patient Care & Medicines: Supplying essential medications, diagnostics, and clinical equipment.

  • Community Health & Capacity-Building: Training local providers, EMS, and students to continue saving lives long after missions end.

  • Local Partnerships & Employment: Supporting translators, health workers, and operations staff in the communities we serve.

  • Mission Logistics: Basic lodging, transport, and supplies to bring volunteers safely to underserved regions.

  • Administration: U.S.-based overhead; with no salaries paid to U.S. staff or directors.

Bottom line: EP is built for impact — lean, transparent, and driven by volunteers. With our partnerships, your support multiplies many times over in lifesaving care.
