help MICHAEL Walk Again: EP fundraiser for life-changing surgery in Dajabón

Thanks to an outpouring of support, EP’s fundraiser to help young Michael walk for the first time reached its goal within hours of launching. The $3,000 raised will fully cover the cost of his surgery (beyond insurance coverage) and recovery; a procedure now scheduled for this Thursday. This will allow Michael to stand and walk independently for the first time in his life.

Born with spastic cerebral palsy, Michael has faced extraordinary challenges growing up in Dajabón, a rural community along the DR–Haiti border. Yet his determination and optimism have made him a central part of the EP family. After receiving a donated gait trainer from our team, Michael took his first assisted steps. Soon after, he joined our missions as a volunteer, helping distribute toys and tablets to children in his community.

Now, thanks to the compassion of our supporters, he’ll take his first real steps — not just for himself, but for everyone who believes in the work we do.

EP extends its deepest gratitude to everyone who donated, shared, and supported this campaign. Every contribution made this possible.

Stay tuned for updates on Michael’s surgery and recovery in the coming days. Thank you for continuing to help us deliver emergency care for the world’s most underserved.

Together, we’re helping others walk again.
