Hala Shaya, MD Director of Global Education

Dr. Hala Shaya is a physician and global health educator with clinical experience spanning the Middle East, Latin America, and Europe. A graduate of the University of Damascus, she has worked in radiology, outpatient medicine, and surgical settings spanning underserved communities from Syria to Venezuela, and is currently pursuing advanced radiology training in Germany. Fluent in Arabic, English, Spanish, and German, Dr. Shaya brings a uniquely international perspective to healthcare delivery, medical education, and cross-cultural clinical collaboration. As EP’s Director of Global Medical Education, she helps lead educational initiatives focused on strengthening frontline care in underserved and crisis-affected communities worldwide, while also playing a key role mentoring interns through Rutgers University’s Scarlet Service Internship Program (RSSI) in support of Emergency Project’s growing global health initiatives.
